Guidelines Reminder
Interpreters must only accept an appointment that they feel capable of completing to the satisfaction of all parties concerned and must always endeavour to interpret accurately and faithfully between said parties.
Interpreters must never accept a second job whilst on site and never accompany a client off-site without the express permission of Clear Communications. Should the latter occur the implications for both you and the client could be very serious. Think before you act, if in doubt contact our us on 0208 248 3666.
Interpreters must never display bias when working, always observe impartiality no matter what you are interpreting. Never accept bribes from either party nor become emotionally involved with the case in hand.
All aspects of your interpretation must remain strictly confidential. Under no circumstances must you attempt to take advantage of information gleaned from your assignment or divulge any part of said information to a third party.
When accepting an assignment interpreters are expected to be punctual and to behave politely and professionally at all times throughout the appointment. Remember, you represent both yourself and Clear Communications, if you have an issue with either party at the point of interpretation ask to contact our office. We all have high standards to maintain, you must do nothing to undermine these standards or to bring Clear Communications into disrepute.
The majority of appointments are made between the hours of 8.00am and 6.00pm Monday to Friday. Although we are able to provide an ‘out of hours service’, Weekdays between 6.00pm and 08.00am and Saturday appointments are charged at one and a half times basic rate. Sunday and Bank Holiday appointments are paid at double the basic rate.
